ºÚÁϳԹÏ's Dr. Laurie Brinklow, Assistant Professor, Coordinator of the Master of Arts in Island Studies (MAIS) program and Chair of the Institute of Island Studies Executive Committee, is one of three Islanders named to the Order of Prince Edward Island for 2025.

Seventeen ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï students learned firsthand about the aquaculture industry on PEI during a course titled “Aquaculture and the Environment,†offered by the departments of Biology and Environmental Studies from May 26 to June 6, 2025.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï has taken a major step in enhancing campus safety with the installation of 18 new automated external defibrillators (AEDs), ensuring that all buildings now have at least one of the life-saving devices in case of a medical emergency. This brings the number of AEDs on the campus to 35.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï and the University of Toronto’s Temerty Centre for AI Research and Education in Medicine (T-CAIREM) are partnering to offer a one-week summer program in August to introduce PEI high school students to artificial intelligence (AI) in health care.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï students Kiana MacLeod, Leetia Eegeesiak, and Leah MacPhail have been awarded funding to spend a semester as exchange students in Norway and the United States in the 2025–2026 academic year.
