On Monday, February 10, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï will welcome celebrated professor and author of "Hope Circuits: Rewiring Universities and other Systems for Human Flourishing", Dr. Jessica Riddell, back to campus. All members of the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï community are invited to attend!

Aadesh Nunkoo, a Master of Science student at the ºÚÁϳԹÏ, was recently awarded one of two by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) and the Actuarial Students’ National Association (ASNA).

The Pan-African flag was raised at ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï on Monday, February 3, to mark Black History Month by Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president academic and research at ºÚÁϳԹÏ; Jessica Ekeleme, president of the African Students Association; and Tamara Steele, executive director of the Black Cultural Society of Prince Edward Island. 

| Athletics

The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Hockey, Basketball and Track and Field Panthers are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away.

Each year at ºÚÁϳԹÏ, approximately 150 residence students remain on campus during the break between first semester exams and early January when students return to classes for the second semester. This year, the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï International Student Office, in cooperation with Student Affairs staff, Campus Life Advisors, Residence Life, and the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Alumni Association, supported and organized some activities for these students during the break, providing a sense of community and connection.

Every week, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Panther Athletes of the Week for January 27 to February 2, 2025, are Alaere Peterside (women’s track and field) and Jakob Robillard (men’s hockey).

| Community

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï will celebrate Black History Month 2025 with a variety of events, and activities, including the raising of the Pan-African flag at the flag plaza near Kelley Memorial Building on Monday, February 3, at 11:30 am.

The second in the series of President's town halls in the winter semester will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, and will provide opportunities to share examples of success, what we are proud of at ºÚÁϳԹÏ—and to shine some light!

Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor emeritus of history, has been awarded a $7,000 SSHRC Exchange Publication Award for his book The Geography of Home: Poems from a Lost Time.
