Updates
This update provides a brief overview of current progress on collective bargaining and the work underway at each table.
To negotiate new collective agreements, the University and ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Faculty Association met on May 29, with additional meetings scheduled through June and July.
ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï recently received Notice to Bargain from the two Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) bargaining units at ºÚÁϳԹÏ.
The following statement about a tentative agreement being reached with CUPE 1870 was also issued to ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï faculty and staff by email on May 14, 2026.
Meetings between CUPE 1870 and the University are scheduled to take place from May 11–15 to negotiate a new collective agreement.
Last month, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï reached a tentative agreement with IBEW 1928. This new collective agreement has now been ratified by both parties and is in place. We are grateful to the bargaining teams for their hard work and their constructive, respectful approach to negotiations.
In this update, the University advised the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï community that it has received "Notice to Bargain" from CUPE 501 and the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Faculty Association, Bargaining Unit #1.
