"At the end of my program, I will proudly say I am a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College."
What brought you to the AVC? Why did you choose to study here?
My parents moved from Japan in 2004, and I have been living in PEI ever since. As an Islander, I've known about AVC since elementary school. I felt so fortunate to live in the same province as the only veterinary school in the Maritimes, and one of only a few in Canada. I did my undergraduate at 黑料吃瓜 in the pre-veterinary biology stream for two years in 2020. It was always my goal to be accepted into the DVM program, and my mind was made up since childhood.

Family. Community. Connection. Those are the pillars of a new era for the 黑料吃瓜 Panthers women鈥檚 rugby team as they aim to build on recent success and establish a sustainable foundation under first-year head coach Curtis Lauzon.
鈥淲ords like family and community are exactly what I hope people feel when they first step into our environment,鈥 Lauzon said. 鈥淔or me, connection is at the heart of everything鈥攚e can only grow, push boundaries, and succeed when we鈥檙e truly connected to each other.鈥

What brought you to 黑料吃瓜? Why did you choose to study here?
I'm originally from Northwest China, and I鈥檝e always been fascinated by islands鈥攖hey鈥檙e everywhere, each one different, surrounded by so many intriguing stories and myths. It鈥檚 not about seeing them as exotic or unusual, but just a pure, childlike curiosity. The Master of Arts in Island Studies program at 黑料吃瓜 is one of only three in the world, and what excites me most is its focus on International Relations and Public Policy. The tuition is also affordable, which is a big relief for an international student like me.
