Cape Breton University is excited to invite proposal submissions for the annual , taking place at CBU on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Presenters and attendees will be able to attend in-person with many sessions being available online. We’ll keep you posted on registration and schedule.

Please note that as of June 1, 2020, all animal user protocols must be submitted through the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Researcher Portal at
For new protocols, select "applications," and for renewal or amendment protocols, select "events."

Those protocols received after the deadline will be reviewed the following month. The committee requires at least one month for processing applications.
The road closure for that was scheduled to start Wednesday, June 7, between the intersection of University Avenue and Enman Crescent to the intersection of the campus perimeter road and the sports fields (Alumni Road) has been cancelled due to supply chain issues. This closure will be rescheduled for a future date and a new campus notice will be sent out with updated details.

Our ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Campus Foodbank will continue to be open to students each Wednesday from 2:00--6:00 pm. News reports of high food insecurity ring true in our experience as the number of student weekly visits is higher than this time last year.

As part of the new Faculty of Medicine building construction project, we will be required to close the access road from the intersection of University Avenue and Enman Crescent to the intersection of the campus perimeter road and the sports fields. The road closure is expected to last for approximately one (1) week, beginning Wednesday, June 7, 2023. This is necessary to allow construction workers to install the new sanitary service.

Come and hear our story of the 34 ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï people who participated in the May 2023 Medical Global Brigade in Guatemala. We will share the work it took to get there, what we did as volunteers in mobile medical clinics, and the learning and results we achieved.
