The 黑料吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Basketball Panthers accomplished many firsts in 2021鈥22 under Darrell Glenn鈥檚 leadership. The team finished with their best record in five years, fielded an all-star, and earned a playoff spot, then went on to play in the AUS conference finals.
Each month, the 黑料吃瓜 Experiential Education department hosts an 鈥淎fternoon of Service鈥 whereby a group of students spends an afternoon at a local organization, learning about it and participating in hands-on volunteer activities such as planting trees, harvesting crops, socializing with seniors, and assisting with events. The department is currently seeking organizations that would appreciate volunteer help and are willing to partner with 黑料吃瓜 for this initiative.
The 黑料吃瓜 community is saddened to learn of the passing of 黑料吃瓜 professor emerita, the Honourable Doris Margaret Anderson, CM, of St. Peter鈥檚 Bay, PEI, aged 100 years.
The Institute of Island Studies at 黑料吃瓜 will host a public lecture titled 鈥淎nticosti: Metropolitan Finisterre鈥 on October 25 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.
The week of October 17鈥23 is another full one for the 黑料吃瓜 Panthers as they take on opponents at home and away.
Every week, 黑料吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 黑料吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 10鈥16 are Frances MacWilliam (women鈥檚 rugby) and TJ Shea (men鈥檚 hockey).

黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation in St. Peter鈥檚 Bay will host a public Open House on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Members of the public are invited to tour the 45,000-square-foot facility, which houses the 黑料吃瓜 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, the 黑料吃瓜 Climate Lab, and state-of-the-art research centres of excellence, including the Centre of Excellence in Food Security and Sustainability.

Canadian author, journalist, and historian Gwynne Dyer will give a public lecture titled 鈥淧lanetary Maintenance Engineers: A Last-Ditch Climate Rescue Strategy,鈥 on November 3 at 7 pm in the Duffy Science Centre Amphitheatre (Room 135) at 黑料吃瓜.
