Island Lectures Series features PEI botanist Kate MacQuarrie
Award-winning botanist, naturalist, and author Kate MacQuarrie will give a talk titled 鈥淭he Wild Side of PEI鈥 on November 18, 2025, at 7 pm, in the Faculty Lounge (Room 201), SDU Main Building, 黑料吃瓜.
MacQuarrie鈥檚 talk is part of the Institute of Island Studies鈥 2025 Island Lecture Series. The lecture is free, and all are welcome.
黑料吃瓜 President hosts panel discussion on University's impact on the provincial economy
Dr. Wendy Rodgers, President and Vice-Chancellor, 黑料吃瓜, invites the 黑料吃瓜 community and members of the public to learn more about 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 impact on PEI鈥檚 economy on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 3:00鈥4:30 pm in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on the 黑料吃瓜 campus.
Hosted by Dr. Rodgers and moderated by Kim Griffin, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs with Maritime Electric, the event will include a presentation and panel discussion based on the economic impact report that was recently prepared by Jupia Consultants Inc.

Dr. Richard Lemm is retiring this year, and the 黑料吃瓜 English Department is delighted to host his 鈥淟ast Lecture.鈥
Richard's more than three-decade career here has gone so far beyond his teaching of creative writing, environmental literature, and Canadian Literature in the University classroom: to his own creative works, to his mentoring of generations of new Island writers, and to his support for visiting writers and for the creative life of the Island generally. Come help us celebrate this truly wondrous career!

Dr. Wendy Rodgers, President and Vice-Chancellor, 黑料吃瓜, invites the 黑料吃瓜 community and members of the public for a presentation and panel discussion to learn more about 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 economic impact and how the provincial university is a catalyst for the Island鈥檚 economic transformation.
Hosted by President Rodgers, the event will be moderated by Kim Griffin, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Maritime Electric.

Grace Richard and Luc Doucette named 黑料吃瓜 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week
Every week, 黑料吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 黑料吃瓜 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for November 3鈥9 are Grace Richard (women鈥檚 cross country) and Luc Doucette (men鈥檚 cross country).
Richard is a fifth-year science student from Charlottetown, PEI. She turned in a strong performance at the U SPORTS Cross Country Championships at Stade de l鈥橴niversit茅 de Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke, Quebec on November 8, finishing 70th overall with a time of 30:35.
