Meet Megan Glover, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï physics and engineering lab technician
Megan enjoys helping others learn about all the interesting things in the world that can be explained with physics. Megan has almost two decades of experience in undergraduate education, primarily in a laboratory course setting, which began when she worked as a teaching assistant during her own undergraduate studies at ºÚÁϳԹÏ.
Let's Talk Teaching Day
Let's Talk Teaching is an annual learning event that gives faculty and sessionals a chance to connect before classes start in September and to share ideas related to teaching. With the changes brought on by the global pandemic and a desire to continue the tradition of Let’s Talk Teaching we’ve organized a Let’s Talk Teaching Online series that includes synchronous sessions that will begin on August 25 and continue throughout the fall semester.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï authors win PEI Book Awards
Island Studies Press is pleased to announce that two ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï authors recently won PEI Book Awards. My island’s the house I sleep in at night by Dr. Laurie Brinklow won the poetry category, and Home Is Where the Water Is by the late Dr. Hung-Min Chiang received the award for non-fiction. The awards were announced on May 29 at the Trailside Café in Charlottetown.
In-person watch party for interactive event with Ukraine President Zelenskyy
On Wednesday, June 22, at 11:00 am AT (10:00 am ET), the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï will take part in an interactive online event with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who will deliver a live video address from Ukraine to students across Canada. An interactive Q&A will follow President Zelenskyy’s remarks. ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï is one of several universities hosting watch parties (in Lecture Theatre A at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC 201N)), with participants being seen on the Zoom call by President Zelenskyy.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï recognizes National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day
This month, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï is proud to commemorate in recognition of the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada. Canada has officially celebrated National Indigenous History Month for the month of June since 2009.
ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Women’s Soccer Panthers recruit Katie Trifos looking to spark offence
ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Women’s Soccer head coach Lewis Page wants his team to score more, and he’s hoping his latest recruit, Katie Trifos, can help facilitate the offence.
Last season, the Panthers found themselves in most games, but the margin of error was slim as they averaged fewer than a goal per contest. As a result, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï finished with a 1-6-5 record.
That’s where Trifos’ skillset comes in. Page envisions the 18-year-old as a cornerstone piece to the midfield and someone who can set up teammates for more scoring chances.
LMMI will hold its 15th biennial international conference June 22 to 26
The (LMMI), ºÚÁϳԹÏ, will hold its 15th biennial international conference from June 22 to 26, featuring a combination of in-person and virtual presentations.
Co-chairing the conference are Dr. Alan MacEachern, a professor of history at Western University and LMMI Visiting Scholar, and Dr. Lesley Clement, a retired English professor from Lakehead University and LMMI Visiting Scholar from 2019 to 2021.
