Tireless 黑料吃瓜 Panther supporter Billy Mulligan passes away
The 黑料吃瓜 community was saddened to hear about the passing of SDU alumnus William 鈥淏illy鈥 Mulligan, who died on June 25 at the age of 81 in Saint John, NB, after suffering heart complications.
Mulligan was an instrumental supporter of the 黑料吃瓜 Panthers, in particular the men鈥檚 hockey team, and had been a star athlete himself when he played for the Saint Dunstan鈥檚 University Saints. In 1962鈥63, Mulligan led the team to a fourth-place finish in the nine-team Maritime Intercollegiate League. He played centre on the line that led in scoring, and was selected as the league all-star.
The Back 50 Project comes to Orwell Corner Historic Village July 3
黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Back 50 Project is hitting the road! The project will visit Orwell Corner Historic Village Community Hall on July 3, at 1 pm, when Dr. Josh MacFadyen, 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Canada Research Chair in Geospatial Humanities, will give a presentation entitled 鈥淭he Great Transformation: PEI Rural Land Use in the Past, Present, and Future.鈥

Dr. Greg Keefe reappointed as 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Dean of Veterinary Medicine聽
The 黑料吃瓜 Board of Governors recently accepted the recommendation of the review committee for the Dean of Veterinary Medicine to extend the decanal appointment of the current dean, Dr. Greg Keefe, for a three-year term effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
Second Summer Session classes begin
Classes for the Second Session of the 2021 Summer Semester begin on Monday, July 5.
PEI Pride Festival
will hold the 2021 PEI Pride Festival from July 18鈥25 at venues across the province. Events aim to build community and celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community all across PEI.

黑料吃瓜 closed for regular operations
The University will be closed for regular operations on Friday, July 2, 2021.
The schedule for specific departments on July 2, 2021 is as follows:
- Security Services will continue throughout July 2, 2021.
- Veterinary Teaching Hospital will be available for emergency service only on July 2, 2021.
- Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre will be open regular operating hours on July 2, 2021.
- Diagnostic Services will be open regular operating hours with reduced staffing on July 2, 2021.
Canada Day
黑料吃瓜 offices will be closed on Canada Day, Thursday, July 1, 2021. No classes will be held.
AVC appoints new Associate Dean Academic and Student Affairs
Dr. Anne Marie Carey will assume the role of Associate Dean Academic and Student Affairs at the Atlantic Veterinary College, effective July 1, 2021.
