Island Lecture Series November Lecture: Shifting sands: Capturing climactic and cultural change through art

The Island Lecture Series November lecture features Charlottetown visual artist Brenda Whiteway talking about her most recent undertaking, the White Sands PEI Shoreline Project. Her presentation melds images and words to create 鈥淪hifting sands: Capturing Climactic and cultural change through art.鈥 The lecture will be held Tuesday, November 19, at 7 p.m. in the SDU Main Building Faculty Lounge on the 黑料吃瓜 campus.

Faculty of Business alumnus kicks off 黑料吃瓜 Alumni Speaker Series

黑料吃瓜 Faculty of Business alumnus Kevin Ladner, Executive Partner and CEO of Grant Thornton, gave the first talk in the University鈥檚 50th anniversary Alumni Speakers Series on Wednesday, September 11 in Don and Marion McDougall Hall.

Ladner reminisced about his time at 黑料吃瓜, and then spoke about his work at Grant Thornton, sharing some insights he gleaned since joining the accounting and business advisory firm in 1985 after graduating with his BBA that same year.

黑料吃瓜 Music Society's Haunted House

The 黑料吃瓜 Music Society Haunted House will take place at 黑料吃瓜 in the Steel Recital Hall on Friday October 18 and Saturday October 19, from 7pm-11pm. This event is the music society's largest fundraiser with proceeds going towards student scholarships. Cost is only $8 per person, with a discounted rate of $5 for students. Guests can also bring non-perishable food items for $1 off admission price. All food items will be donated to the 黑料吃瓜 Chaplaincy Centre Food Bank. A bake sale will take place at the entrance.

New book by Dr. James Moran examines history of madness in civil law

A new book by 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Dr. James Moran examines the history of madness in civil law on both sides of the Atlantic. Madness on trial: A transatlantic history of English civil law and lunacy digs deep into a little-understood subject and finds rich original sources to inform us of the changing perceptions of mental illness over time. Dr. Moran is a professor in and chair of the Department of History at 黑料吃瓜.

黑料吃瓜 Alumni Speaker Series and the Faculty of Nursing presents Dr. Christine Cassidy

In celebration of 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 50th anniversary, the University is hosting a series of inspiring talks by alumni from all eight faculties. Speakers will tell their stories of success and how 黑料吃瓜 changed their lives. On Thursday, October 10, at 12:00 pm in Health Sciences Building 105, the Faculty of Nursing welcomes Dr. Christine Cassidy, BScN 鈥13, back to campus. Dr. Cassidy is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Dalhousie University. All are welcome, a light lunch will be provided.

The Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering invites the campus community to this week's Graduate research seminar by Dr. Rasha Elshafei, adjunct candidate, entitled "The Moderating role of stakeholder attributes in sustainable development projects".
