Work has begun on the future home of clean tech innovation and education in Prince Edward Island.

| Athletics

Every week, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for February 6–12 are Sydney Cummins (women’s basketball) and Kamari Scott (men’s basketball).

The Bookmark and the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Faculty of Arts and English department will host a celebration of author J.J. Steinfeld’s literary achievements and contributions to the culture of PEI, Canada, and beyond on Thursday, March 9, at 7:00 pm. The celebration will take place in The Carriage House at Beaconsfield, 2 Kent Street, Charlottetown.

Earlier this month—Black History Month—the Canadian Broadcasting Company named five people 2023 Black Changemakers for Prince Edward Island. Four of the five have connections to the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï community.

Students in the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) got the chance to meet with potential employers at the faculty’s inaugural Industry and Career Day held on February 2.

The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Faculty of Nursing in collaboration with the PEI Department of Health and Wellness held its inaugural Scrub Coat Ceremony on February 9, 2023, at the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Performing Arts Centre in the University’s new residence building. The ceremony was a celebration and welcoming of 71 first-year undergraduate nursing students and 15 first-year accelerated nursing students.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï physics student Liam MacNevin received a first-place Tindall/Steinitz Award in Research during the 2023 Atlantic Universities Physics and Astronomy Conference (AUPAC). The conference was hosted by Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia from February 3–5.
