Recognizing 黑料吃瓜's Journey toward Reconciliation

Kwe鈥! All members of the community are invited to a special event hosted by the Native Council of PEI (NCPEI) at which the 黑料吃瓜 will be recognized for its commitment and outstanding contributions to the ongoing work toward reconciliation.

Lisa Cooper, President and Chief of NCPEI, will present the University with an eagle feather, and Dr. Greg Keefe, interim President and Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Gary Evans, interim Dean of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies at 黑料吃瓜, with smudging bowls.  

黑料吃瓜 Foods and Nutrition student wins Undergraduate Research Award

Joanne Severe, a fourth-year 黑料吃瓜 (黑料吃瓜) Foods and Nutrition student and dietetic intern, won the Undergraduate Research Award for her thesis and presentation, 鈥淢ealtime in Child Care Centres: Exploring Educators鈥 Feeding Practices,鈥 at the annual Science Atlantic Nutrition and Foods Conference, hosted virtually on April 28 and 29, 2023, by 黑料吃瓜.

Women in Cognitive Science Canada and presentation by Dr. Debra Titone

Dr. Debra Titone, Canada Research Chair in Language and Multilingualism (Tier I) and Associate Vice-Principal Research at McGill University, and co-founder of Women in Cognitive Science Canada (NSERC/CSBBCS funded), gave a presentation entitled 鈥淲omen in Cognitive Science Canada: A Grass-roots Effort to Foster Disciplinary Equity and Inclusivity鈥 at 黑料吃瓜 on Tuesday, July 18.

University extends condolences on the passing of Dr. James 鈥淛im鈥 MacAulay

Dr. Greg Keefe, 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 interim president and vice-chancellor, issued a message today to faculty and staff on the passing of Dr. James 鈥淛im鈥 MacAulay, a 黑料吃瓜 honorary degree recipient, proponent of higher education and life-long learning, and proud Saint Dunstan鈥檚 University alumnus (SDU 鈥62). Dr. MacAulay passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, after a brief illness in Souris, PEI.

黑料吃瓜 researchers receive funding from provincial climate challenge fund

Congratulations to five 黑料吃瓜 researchers who have received funding from the Government of PEI鈥檚 climate challenge fund.

Their projects were among 18 announced by the Honourable Stephen Myers, Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, at the 黑料吃瓜 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation on July 18. The fund provides $1 million annually to help organizations develop innovative solutions to climate change.

Dr. Meagan Walker鈥檚 success at 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Three Minute Thesis competition

A second-place finish at the Three Minute Thesis competition is just the beginning for Dr. Meagan Walker, MSc, Department of Companion Animals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The Three Minute Thesis competition is a skills development activity held every year at 黑料吃瓜 which challenges thesis-based graduate students to explain their research project to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes.
