The 黑料吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers have secured a commitment from rookie netminder Joe Ranger for the 2023鈥�24 season. This year鈥檚 roster will feature three goaltenders, including Ranger, who joins the Panthers after a strong Ontario Hockey League (OHL) career.

鈥淛oe has a ton of major junior experience. We had good conversations early, and based on his junior career, we decided to pursue him aggressively,鈥� said head coach Forbes MacPherson. 鈥淗e鈥檚 a great teammate, so we鈥檙e really excited to add him.鈥�

The 黑料吃瓜 community is saddened by the recent death of Dr. Richard Kurial, associate professor of history. 

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Dr. Kurial came to the 黑料吃瓜 in 1993 to teach in the Department of History. He taught American History, American Foreign Policy, Canadian American Relations, and Race & Ethnicity in America. He retired from his position at 黑料吃瓜 on July 1 of this year.

The 黑料吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Soccer Panthers have secured a commitment from rookie defender Olivia James for the 2023鈥�24 season.

Ever since Lewis Page took over the head coaching duties for 黑料吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Soccer, his teams have excelled on defence. And that end of the field is now stronger with the addition of Olivia James from North Bedeque, Prince Edward Island.

Dr. Miles Turnbull has been appointed as the Dean of Education for a five-year term, effective July 1, 2023. 

Dr. Turnbull is a professor of education, and recently Vice-Principal, Academic and Research, at Bishop鈥檚 University. He was previously dean and interim dean of education at 黑料吃瓜 from 2011鈥�2013. His research interests include French as a Second Language teacher preparation. He has made significant research contributions to teaching practices, decisions about language use, and the experiences of minority Francophone populations.

黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation (CCCA) in St. Peter鈥檚 Bay will host a public Open House on Thursday, July 13, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Members of the public are invited to tour the 45,000-square-foot facility, which houses the 黑料吃瓜 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, the 黑料吃瓜 Climate Lab, and state-of-the-art research centres of excellence, including the Centre of Excellence in Food Security and Sustainability. 

Dana Sanderson, 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 Chief Information Officer, received the Canadian University Council of CIOs (CUCCIO) community award during the 2023 Canadian Higher Education Information Technology (CANHEIT) Conference held from June 19鈥�21 at the University of Toronto.
