黑料吃瓜

The Atlantic Veterinary College鈥檚 (AVC) annual Ice Cream Social took place on June 23, honouring staff who demonstrated excellence in their work this past year and bidding a fond farewell to retiring faculty and staff.

The 黑料吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers have secured a commitment from Morden, Manitoba native Cade Kowalski for the 2023鈥�24 season. The team is excited to add Kowalski鈥檚 experience to the roster.

Nishel Alexander, a fourth-year honours student in physics at 黑料吃瓜, won second place in the poster competition in the association鈥檚 Division of Physics in Medicine and Biology at the 2023 Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) Congress held at the University of New Brunswick in June. His poster presentation was titled 鈥淐onstruction of optical tools for investigating active matter.鈥�

Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor of history at 黑料吃瓜, recently won the Canadian Catholic Historical Association鈥檚 (CCHA) 2023 Paul Bator Memorial Prize for the best article published over the past four years in the association鈥檚 journal, Historical Studies. His winning article, titled 鈥淎 Song for Edward Whelan: Commemoration, Catholicism and Classical Liberalism in the Afterlife of a Tragic Hero,鈥� was published in the journal鈥檚 87th volume in 2021. 

Daniel Cousins, a third-year 黑料吃瓜 student in the Applied Communication, Leadership, and Culture program, is planning PEI鈥檚 first TEDx event, tentatively set for October 13, 2023, and is looking for ideas from faculty, students, and alumni. 

Cousins, who has also studied photography and digital imaging, marketing and advertising, and project management at Holland College, has been trying to bring a TED event to PEI since 2015.   

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at 黑料吃瓜 is geared up to host the wildly popular Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp, introducing junior and senior high school students to the exciting world of veterinary medicine. The program, which includes four one-week camps, begins July 10. 

For the first time, there are two camp coordinators leading the pack of campers鈥攖hird-year AVC student Lindsay Gallant and second-year student Julia Skinner.  

Twenty 黑料吃瓜 business students spent 12 days in Costa Rica in May, learning about various sustainable tourism development practices and business models, through a Maymester program developed by the University鈥檚 Faculty of Business and its Office of Study Abroad and International Partnerships.
