2021 Winter Academic Semester begins for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Senate met and passed a motion on November 25, 2020, to change the starting date of the 2021 Winter Academic Semester to provide additional time to students for their health and wellness. The Senate decided unanimously that the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Winter 2021 Academic Semester will begin on January 11, 2021, for students in the Faculties of Arts, Business, Education, Graduate Studies, Nursing, Science, and Sustainable Design Engineering. Other academic calendar dates will be adjusted as required; the last day of the semester will remain April 26, 2021.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï extends condolences on the passing of Dr. Hung Min "Min" Chiang

The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï community extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Hung Min "Min" Chiang, retired professor of psychology, who passed away suddenly on November 24, 2020 at his home in Stratford, PEI. Dr. Chiang loved nature and was "a man of many hobbies", including writing. In 2006, he published the book, , in which he brought the powerful stories of the early Chinese settlers on PEI to life.

Shad ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï seeks team for 2021

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï will be hosting a virtual Shad program in July 2021, and we are looking for staff or faculty who might be interested in getting involved.

Shad is a STEAM-driven, problem-solving summer program designed to ignite potential for students in grades 10 and 11 from across Canada (See for more details).

There are various opportunities available including

• leadership role as a co- or assistant program director

• leadership and support role as a program experience manager

Jane Vessey appointed ºÚÁϳԹÏ’s new Director of Athletics and Recreation

Jackie Podger, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Vice-President Administration and Finance, announced in a message to the campus community that, with the completion of a recent search process, Jane Vessey has been appointed the University’s new Director of Athletics and Recreation, effective November 23, 2020, for a five-year term.
