Veterinary students from the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï (ºÚÁϳԹÏ) won five awards at the 2023 American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Animal Welfare Assessment Contest.

Twenty groups of fourth-year ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï nursing students in the Nursing and Population Health 4010 course have been working with agencies across PEI this semester to create innovative projects and programs to promote health and wellness. The students will present their work to their community agency partners and guests at a population health project showcase on December 5, 2023, from 2:00–4:00 pm in McMillan Hall in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

The Honourable Diane Griffin, alumna, honorary degree recipient, and retired senator, has been unanimously elected as the 10th Chancellor of the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï for a four-year term. 

Dr. Greg Keefe, ºÚÁϳԹÏ’s interim president and vice-chancellor, and ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï student Antwaun Rolle invite members of the campus community to the first annual raising of the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 12:00 pm (noon) at the flag plaza near Kelley Memorial Building. 

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Board of Governors Chair Shannon MacDonald provided an update to the campus community after chairing a historic meeting of the Board of Governors on November 28.

The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Men’s Hockey and the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Track and Field teams are on the road during the week of November 27–December 3.

Giving Tuesday, a global movement for giving and volunteering, is today, November 28, 2023. This year, the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Giving Tuesday campaign is dedicated to supporting ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï celebrated the 12th annual MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing on Friday, November 17. The awards were presented to recipients, acknowledging their effective writing skills, which are the foundation of academic success and lifelong learning.

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports over the previous week. The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Panther Athletes of the Week for November 14–20 are Devon Lawlor (women’s basketball) and Kamari Scott (men’s basketball).

The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï is excited to share the news that undergraduate student Luke McCarvill is one of 11 remarkable young Canadians awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarships for Canada this year.
